Founded in 2010 by James Carmi, OG Rescue is a testament to the transformative power of redemption and faith…but that isn’t how this story began.

James had spent his entire adult life entrenched in a lawless lifestyle. James literally rode with an outlaw biker organization for years, spending his days selling drugs and his nights dealing guns.

   In and out of jail,  James will openly confess, his life was a mess. He hated who he had become and on one fateful night, James made a drunken barroom declaration to his partners-in-crime;  “I hate who I am…I don’t want to live like this…I don’t want to be me anymore !!”     Then, James left the bar, got on his Harley and 5-minutes later was struck head on by a semi-truck that did not stop and disappeared into the night.!

   James would spend the next several months in a coma recovering from his head injuries. When he awoke he had amnesia. He literally didn’t remember who he was! He had no memory of his past!   James’ prayer had been answered, he was no longer the person that he didn’t want to be!       James’ journey is proof that God does in fact work in mysterious ways! 

   James is also proof that God believes in finding messengers  who are living testaments to the power of His love, His forgiveness, and the power of second-chances.

    Few have ever been more “lost” than James was, and no one was happier to have been “found”!  You will not find, or ever hear, a more genuine and inspirational testimonial than James’.

James believes that in order to serve God you must be willing to serve others.  He believes that God saved him and tasked him with caring for the unwanted and unloved in his community. 

   The first souls He brought to James were a box full of puppies that were abandoned on his doorstep.  Next was a litter of kittens. Before he knew it, dogs and cats started showing up at his door. God’s message to James became clear to him…He was being tasked to care for, and protect, the innocent souls that made their way to him. Today, over a hundred dogs and cats call the farm home. James is a modern day Noah.

   As you might imagine, it’s not cheap or easy to care for so many furry angels.  It takes everything James has and then some, both physically and financially.  Since his devastating accident, James has been living on his meager disability checks.  Seven days a week, 365 days a year for over 10-years now, James gets up and cares for his furry wards.  The work wears him to the bone but you’ll never hear him complain…He’ll be the first one to tell you that it’s what God has called him to do..

OG Rescue is not just about providing a safe haven for unwanted animals, it’s about creating a community of love, support, and redemption. Those who make their way to James’s farm not only can help take care of, and love on, the dogs and cats that call the farm home, but they get to experience the same unconditional love that James showers upon every dog and cat he has taken in. They have become James’ family…his children. 

Through his platform at OG Rescue, James embodies the principle that true happiness and fulfillment comes from serving others and answering God’s call to love and care for those in need.

OG Rescue is more than a sanctuary of sorts; it’s a testament to the belief that everyone has a calling,and that it is only by answering that call with love and compassion, that we can make a profound difference in the lives of others. 

We encourage you to make your way to the farm and meet James. Help provide some much needed attention to the resident dogs who would love to play with you and your children and perhaps give a cat a much desired hug … .I promise you, James’ messages of hope and a couple of hours on the farm doing something meaningful will afford anyone, especially the children, the sort of life-lessons very few experiences can … .and who knows, it might just change your life too!
